Assistant Farm Manager - Blackbull Station, Douglas Daly NT

We have a brilliant opportunity with our client, Customised Farm Management (CFM) an independent agricultural asset management company. CFM manage numerous corporate scale agricultural assets across New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria, Northern Territory incorporating orchards (citrus, almonds, pistachio, kiwi fruit) and a broad spectrum of cropping activities, from irrigated summer crops to winter dryland cereal cropping and livestock.

The Role

Blackbull Station is on the lookout for a dependable, motivated and people-oriented Assistant Farm Manager. Blackbull Station are not just offering a job - they are inviting someone to join a close-knit crew built on respect, mateship and a shared commitment to getting things done right.

Blackbull Station is a 15,000ha mixed farming property with cotton, hay and cattle enterprises 2.5 hours' drive from Darwin. The property is situated on 15kms of Daly River frontage, 5,000ha improved farming, 140ha irrigated cotton with centre pivot and 1,400 Braham breeders.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Safe farm operations, processes, systems and agronomic activities.
  • Staff, contractors, livestock, machinery upkeep and infrastructure.
  • Crop care including irrigation, nutrient application and weed control.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and leadership potential
  • Interest in agriculture, machinery & outdoor life
  • Willingness to commit long-term and step up when things get busy
  • Ability to lead, take initiative and work collaboratively
  • Mechanical aptitude (qualified or self-taught)

What We Need From You:

  • MC licence - including manual drivers licence.
  • Experience with irrigation systems.
  • Formal Ag qualifications (highly regarded).
  • Clear verbal & written communication.
  • Broadacre cropping knowledge, especially cotton.
