Orchard Irrigation Hand (Darlington Point)

We have a brilliant opportunity with our client, Customised Farm Management (CFM), an independent agricultural asset management company. CFM manage numerous corporate scale agricultural assets across New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria, Northern Territory incorporating orchards (citrus, almonds, pistachio, kiwi fruit) and a broad spectrum of cropping activities, from irrigated summer crops to winter dryland cereal cropping and livestock.
The Role
We're seeking a skilled Orchard Irrigation Hand (Almonds) to join the team at Uri Park, a 350-hectare property in Darlington Point, NSW. With access to premium water sources from the Murrumbidgee River and high-quality bore water, Uri Park is a prime location for high-performance almond production.
You'll work closely with the Orchard Manager to carry out daily operations, support contractors, and ensure the orchard runs smoothly and efficiently. This is a hands-on role where your attention to detail and mechanical know-how will be highly valued.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implementing best-practice systems to support almond production
- Operating and maintaining tractors, irrigation systems, and farm machinery
- Coordinating contractors and casual staff
- Keeping accurate records of chemical and nutrient applications
- Supporting crop inspection, grading, and post-harvest processes
- Upholding WH&S protocols and meeting operational timelines
What we need from You:
- Experience in almond or citrus irrigation and fertiliser application
- Tractor driving and mechanical aptitude
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Passion for agricultural technology and efficiency
- Computer literacy and willingness to adopt new tools
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Current driver's licence and chemical certificate (or willingness to obtain)
