Are you a qualified Diesel Mechanic ready to take on a key role within a large, well-established farming enterprise near Hillston?

We have a brilliant opportunity with our client, an independent agricultural asset management company. They manage numerous corporate scale agricultural assets across New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria, Northern Territory & Vanuatu incorporating orchards (citrus, almonds, pistachio, kiwi fruit) and a broad spectrum of cropping activities, from irrigated summer crops to winter dryland cereal cropping and livestock.

The Role

We are seeking a Mechanic for our clients property located 18kms from Hillston. The property consists of 11,000ha of arable farming land, 7000ha of irrigation country and 22,000ha of grazing country. It also boasts some of the most productive soils in the Lachlan valley. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and capable mechanic to join a large-scale, progressive agricultural operation. Working within an experienced and mature team, you will play a key role in maintaining and servicing a diverse fleet of orchard, broadacre and irrigation machinery to ensure peak performance across the business.

Key Responsibilities

Service, maintain and repair orchard machinery and equipment
Diagnose and repair faults across diesel engines, hydraulic systems and farm machinery
Maintain broadacre and irrigation equipment (experience highly regarded)
Perform preventative maintenance to minimise downtime
Respond to breakdowns in a timely and efficient manner
Maintain accurate service records and follow maintenance schedules
Work collaboratively with the farm team to meet operational deadlines

What We Need From You

Qualified Diesel Mechanic preferred
Experience working with orchard machinery and equipment (highly regarded)
Experience with broadacre and irrigation equipment (advantageous)
Strong diagnostic and technical problem-solving skills
Ability to think on your feet in a fast-changing environment
Comfortable working to instruction and meeting tight deadlines
Own basic hand tools
Strong work ethic and ability to work well within a team
