About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Orchard Manager at Merrowie Almonds, situated 18kms from Hillston. As Manager you will overseer 700Ha of Almonds developed between 2021 and 2025. Reporting to the Farm Manager, the position would suit a person with 3+ years management experience in almonds or other horticultural related orchards. This role offers variety, challenge, and the opportunity to contribute to a business that values initiative, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Full oversight and responsibility for the coordination, implementation and continuous improvement of all orchard operations and labour.
- Provide day to day leadership on issues relating to the program of works, including delegation of tasks, development and performance management of employees.
- Co-ordinate day to day management of the orchard to ensure operational timelines are met.
- Co-ordinate all Orchard operations and maintenance of machinery and infrastructure in line with allocated budget.
- Co-ordinate & oversee orchard contractors and suppliers as required.
- Maintain annual orchard budget & production targets.
- Maintain high level of orchard & property hygiene while understanding and implementing WH&S procedures and protocols.
- Maintain regular and scheduled reporting of crop, machinery and infrastructure to the Farm Manager.
- Maintain proper and accurate records of all sprays, fertilizers, nutrients and other chemicals applied to the orchard.
- Understanding key benchmarking targets and passion to strive to improve all aspects of the orchard operation.
